Invitation to the launch of our new album

Three years after successful debut Spas! we are back with a new album called Who Eats Dogs? Come to its launch and listen to the new songs to the Archa Theatre on June 21st. You will see our Chinese singer Jing Lu, Kurdish singer and oud player Miran Kasem, singer and ukulele player Philipp Schenker from Switzerland, Armenian accordionist Gugar Manukjan and many new musicians (Kryštof Verner, Lukáš Mičko, Ondřej Komárek, Tomáš Hendrych, Tomáš Kerle, Marek Hrubý, Jiří Blažek, Richard Fiala). We are looking for new members

The Allstar Refjudzi Band is looking for new members. Guitar, accordion, tuba, trombone, percussion. Other players of brass, woodwind and stringed instruments are welcome to try out! We are an international band composing and playing original music confronting nationalism, racism, immigration conflicts and cultural upheavals. We promote civil transformation. Our music is expressed in ballads and songs. We are traditional and untraditional, experimental and open.

New musicians must be open to working in a variety of settings and with musicians and non-musicians of varied backgrounds. In addition to concerts, workshops and music for theater, we also perform shows and play in the street. The Allstar Refjudzi Band is a project of Archa Theatre and directed by Michael Romanyshyn.

We invite musicians for the workshop, which will take place in Prague on March 15, from 10 am to 4 pm. If you are interested, please contact our production manager until February 29, 2012. Petra Čechová : Tato emailová adresa je chráněna před spamboty, abyste ji viděli, povolte JavaScript .

Allstar Refjúdží Band in 2012

The ASRB is preparing a number of new events and changes in 2012. At the beginning of the year they will present a new project based on the personal story of ASRB singer Jing Lu called Solo for Lu, which will premiere on February 28 at the Archa Theatre. The music for the performance was arranged by Michael Nejtek and the director is Jana Svobodová.
The ASRB will delight its fans with its new album with the working title Karaoke Evropa, which the band will record in the spring together with a range of guests. In the summer the band will set off on concert tours of summer festivals and in the fall director and artistic director of the ASRB Jana Svobodová will prepare a new theatre project, which will reflect the stories of people who are looking for a new home in the Czech Republic. The site-specific performance will be created directly in the refugee camp in Kostelec nad Orlicí in cooperation with its residents and with the residents of the town of Kostelec.
The creative core of the band will continue to organize creative workshops for refugees in detention and residence camps run by the Ministry of the Interior as well as performances in schools. For children the company will also present the musical-theatre comics Where Is My Home?, which explores the idea that Forefather Czech was also a refugee, as well as the autobiographical project Solo for Lu.
For the Theatre World Festival in Brno the creative core of the ASRB will create a replica of the site-specific project Walk With Me made to measure for the Brno Vietnamese community. The interactive audio tour Walk With Me will return to the Archa Theatre program in spring 2012.
